CUT THE CRAP (PROCESSED FOODS)

The shiny, glittery packages in the inner aisles of the grocery store are unfortunately jam packed with preservatives, chemicals, and excessive amounts of sugar, salt, and trans fat that hurt your health. Example foods are chips, chocolate, candies, canned goods, and frozen foods. The short term effects of consumption include weight gain, mood changes, and feeling guilt or even lethargic (slow and slothy). Overconsumption in the long term can even lead to obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and even cancer. Now I’m not telling you to cut it out completely, but let’s be mindful together on how to reduce and balance the intake of processed foods, so we can continue to work on being the best version of ourselves! If you are not sure where to start when looking for healthier options, check our my plant-based grocery list and what the plant-based lifestyle is all about.
